Succeeding Rune T. Kidde, Steffen Vedsted was the was the editor of the Danish comic book Fantomet for issues #240 through #275 and co-editor for issues #276 through #292 during the period 1984-1988.
At the time the "Fantomet" magazine was published by Interpresse and six of these issues contain a Mandrake story: #242, 243, 246, 254, 257 and 262.
In the eighties, he was also editor - always for "Interpresse" - on various comic-books such as "Daffy & Co." ("Daffy Duck"), "Hagar Den Glorværdie" ("Hagar the Horrible"). After this period he worked for the publisher "Serieforlaget" as editor of the Danish "Anders And & Co." ("Donald Duck") magazine, "Nuser og Hans Venner" ("Peanuts") .
