Tri-City Herald
The Tri-City Herald is a daily newspaper distributed in and around Kennewick, Benton County, State of Washington, United States. The newspaper serves southeastern Washington state, including the three cities of Kennewick, Pasco and Richland, collectively known as the "Tri-Cities".
The paper was founded in 1918 in Pasco (Franklin County, State of Washington) as the weekly "Pasco Herald". In 1947, the new buyers of the newspaper moved it to Kennewick the following year and transformed it into the area's first daily newspaper, coining the name 'Tri-Cities' as part of the newspaper's name.
After over 30 years as an afternoon paper, it became a morning paper in 1984 and . A Saturday edition was added in 1987. To note that the newspaper's daily print edition was delivered by a local carrier until December 12, 2022 when it was switched to the U.S. Postal Service; the expanded Sunday edition was moved to a Saturday delivery. Finally it was announced that it would decrease print editions to twice weekly on Wednesdays and Sundays (delivered on Sundays), before a transition to digital content.
"Mandrake the Magician" Sunday pages were published in the sunday edition between (at least) March 1, 1959 to November 22, 1970
