Serieförlaget
Serieförlaget was a Swedish comic book publishing company that operated from 1950 to 1955.
That company belonged to Swedish publisher "Åhlen & Åkerlunds Förlags AB", which was founded in 1906 by Johan Petter Åhlén and Erik Åkerlund. In fact, it seems that it was created by Åhlén & Åkerlund's publishers since these latter did not want to tarnish the publisher's good name with comics, so the publisher's name "Serieförlaget" was established.
In the "Åhlén & Åkerlunds" Group, "Serieförlaget" was preceded by comics imprint "Alga" (1942–1950) and succeeded by "Åhlén & Åkerlunds Youth Magazines" (1955–1962), the latter becoming "Semic Press" in the early sixties.
Amongst the comic books published by "Serieförlaget" are the following titles: "Fantomen", "Blondie", "Buffalo Bill" and "Tarzan" in which "Mandrake the Magician" was featured during the year 1954.
