Issue overview

Okapi is a French magazine for the youth with educative contents and comics series. It is published since 1971.

In the seventies and the eighties, the comics section of "Okapi" was under the direction of Jean-Claude Forest, author of the French comics work "Barbarella". As one of the founder of the comics association "Le Club des bandes dessinées" (see also the specific page "CÉLEG"), he wanted to introduce into "Okapi" some classical comics from the thirties and fourties but it seems that this desire was not fully appreciated by the more modern readers of the magazine; so the publication of those older comics have been stopped.

Only one Mandrake the Magician story - "Prince Paulo the Tyrant" - was published in "Okapi" (issues #365 to 370 / 1987).
