Club Anni Trenta ("Club of the Thirties") was an Italian publishing company devoted to reprint classical comics.
History
Ernesto Traverso and Silvano Scotto met in 1967. Traverso had a desire to publish series of closed-circuit albums in editions of 120 or 140 copies to comics enthusiasts, to fill gaps left by traditional publishers. Scotto dealed with exchange and sale of antique comics, and had valuable material at his disposal.
Albi grandi avventure
Their first "editorial" experiment was carried out with Gianni Bono and Nino Bernazzali[footnotes 1]. This first Albi grandi avventure issue (Gli uomini di guttaperca) released in March 1968 consisted of daily strips from May to july 1935 with "Inspector Wade" by Lyman Anderson.
After this experiment Traverso and Scotto officially founded Club Anni Trenta and printing began in 1969. During the following three years they produced 22 albums (included the first Wade issue) plus an English edition of a Jungle Jim (L'affare Stacet) issue. In addition, there is also a combined album consisting of the four "G. Men" issues they released. Each issue were released in only 120 copies and the covers were in black and white.
The "Albi grandi avventure" series was splitt into subseries:

- Agente Segreto X-9: I contrabbandieri di gioielli (October, 1969), Una strana epidemia (October, 1969), I predoni del Texas (October, 1969)
- Brick Bradford: La città sconosciuta (April 20, 1970), Al centro della Terra (April 30, 1970), l tiranno di Nova Longa (May 30, 1970), L’impero dei Maya (June 10, 1970), Nel regno di Acza (July 10, 1970), Viaggio attraverso il tempo (September 20, 1970)
- G. Men: Il rapimento di Baby Morton (May 10, 1970), Il caso Dory King (May 20, 1970), Gli spacciatori di stupefacenti (June 20, 1970), I contrabbandieri della morte & La setta segreta (June 30, 1970)

In 1971, the two original publishers ended their collaboration. Silvano Scotto continued releasing albums under subseries like: "Cino e Franco", "Ispettore Wade", "Brick Bradford", "Blondie", "Rip Kirby", "Bob Star", "Agente Segreto X-9", "(Flash) Gordon", "(The) Phantom", "Zigomar", "Radio Patrol", "Mickey Mouse", "Annibale", "Betty Boop", ..
The "Albi grandi avventure" was reprinted later (before 1978), now with covers in color.

Silvano Scotto still working with the label until 1998 "Club Anni Trenta" when a second club was created apart under the name of "Nuovo Club Anni Trenta" ("New Club of the Thirties") but it ceased activities after one year.
It is worthy to notice that a book of 268 pages, entitled "Un’avventura Lunga Trent’Anni – 1968 1998" ("An 30 years adventure"), written by Gabriella Càlisto, wife of Silvano Scotto, was published in 1997 by the Club Anni Trenta Editions to trace the whole history of the Club.
