Avery, Duke of Hectares is a character from the Mandrake the Magician comic strip that first appeared in "Mandrake in Love" .
Fictional Character Biography
Avery, Duke of Hectares, is a rich powerful man living in Cockaigne. When Narda was a child the court of arranged an engagement between Narda and Avery, but when Narda fell in love with Mandrake she broke her engagement. Soon after her brother Segrid forced her engagement to Avery. In return the Duke agreed to back Segrid to regain the throne.
