A Capital
A Capital (= "The Capital") was a Portuguese afternoon newspaper published in Lisbon, Portugal, between 1968 and 2005 and featuring "Mandrake the Magician" Sunday strip in its Monday supplement called "Suplemento Quadradinhos".
History
When "A Capital" was first published on 21th February 1968, it was - as said on the front - a "continuity" invoking the tradition of the newspaper founded on July 1, 1910. In 1968 it was also established from a split in the "Diário de Lisboa" and as a result of the editorial conflicts in the daily newspaper "Diário Popular". It ceased publication on 30th July 2005, closed down due to falling sales.

Mandrake in the supplement "Quadradinhos" of "A Capital"
The first 8 pages comic supplement, A Capital \ Quadradinhos, was released on October 4, 1971 until February 14, 1972. The publishing date is printed on the first page and the series have no other numbering.

Second series
The Quadradinhos supplement reduced the size and increased the page number from February 28 1972. Now each issue had a ongoing numbering on the first page. The series ended on April 21 1974 after 109 issues.
