Silio Romagnoli was an Italian comics artist.
Biography
Silio Romagnoli was born in 1928. In the 1960s, he drew some "The Phantom" stories for Fratelli Spada. Dino De Laurentiis called him to work on Barabbas (1961) as a production illustrator and storyboard artist. He was introduced to De Laurentiis by his friend Carlo Rambaldi. He then went on to provide large-scale illustrations and pre-production paintings on the film "The Bible" (1966). He also collaborated on "Barbarella" (1968) and "Waterloo" (1970) as a production illustrator. His film work was sporadic, and he focused primarily on comics and illustrations. He has also contributed to British comics, notably drawing "Dick Turpin" and "Trelawney of the Guards" through the "Studio Giolitti", founded by Alberto Giolitti.
