Mandrake was published by the Swedish publisher Semic Press in 1967 and 1968.

Regular series
The series started with translated versions of the "Mandrake the Magician" series released by King Comics in 1966. The Swedish edition is slightly different from the US original and including stories from the King Comics "Flash Gordon" series.
The Swedish series was also sold in Finland. In addition the publisher also translated this series into German and Norwegian and released all issues in Germany and the first 5 in Norway.
The series was a bi-monthly release, alternating between the corresponding "Blixt Gordon" series.

When the series ended, "Mandrake the Magician" continued in the "Blixt Gordon" series.
