As a Roman comics collector, Camillo Conti began collaborating for the ANAF magazine "Il Fumetto", before - always for the ANAF association - to work with Franco Grillo in editing volumes such "Secret Agent X9", "Audax", "Brick Bradford" "Topolino" and "Prince Valiant".

In 1975 he decided to establish himself an independent publishing house and continue his activities on his own. Under the name of "Edizioni Camillo Conti", he has produced actual facsimile reprints with the anastatic process (in Italian: "ristampa anastatica" = and previously unpublished material such as the chronology of Modesty Blaise or James Bond "anastatic reprint"), a print reproduction allowing to replicate the source as accurately as possible in scale, color, condition, and other material qualities.

In the mid-1970s, a wealth of material was released in that way, with some American and English syndicated works, as well as amongst these reprints, European material like "Jeff Hawke", "Modesty Blaise", "Garth", "James Bond" (some making their debut in Italy).

It's worth to note that for more usual reprints Camillo Conti also drew himself some volumes covers (for instance for "The Medieval Castle" by Harold Foster, published in 1976, classic comics also translated and adapted by Camillo Conti).
