In the mid 1930s Ettore Carozzo, the editor of Librairie Moderne, launches two weekly comics: Jumbo and Aventures.

SAGE
In 1939 Librairie Moderne changed name to SAGE (Société Anonyme Générale d'Édition) and published titles as: Appel de la jungle, Aventures et Mystère, La Collection Merveilleuse, La Collection Victoire and Collection Jeunesse Nouvelle.
After WW2 SAGE published complete stories with: Jim Taureau, Panthère Blonde, Cyclone l'homme atomique, Amok, Gazelle Blanche, Petits Moineaux, Kansas Kid, Mandrake, Raoul et Gaston, Le Fantôme and King roi de la police montée.
From 1949, under the PEI (Périodiques et Éditions Illustrées), SAGE published Tom and Jerry and Bugs Bunny. On the death of Carozzo in 1951, his son Victor Broussard took over the business with the help of Max Boyer. In the 1960s SAGE published various comics. Cartoons as: Bugs Bunny; Piko Woody Woodpecker;, Roquet (Belles-Oreilles); Tom and Jerry, and on. Television series such as: Aigle Noir, Bonanza, Roy Rogers, Tarzan by Joe Kubert and Russ Manning, Rintintin and Rusty.

Sagédition
Late 60s SAGE changed name to Sagédition and continues to publish animal series (Tweety and Sylvester, Bugs Bunny, and Hurlu Berlu, Pink Panther, Yogi, Super Mouse, etc.), Italian series: Harry Sprint, Kronos, Sturmtruppen, Whisky et Gogo, Max Bunker, Magnus, Alan Ford, Hugo Pratt and on, and adaptations of television series (The Man from UNCLE, Rin Tin Tin, The king of the meadow, The Flintstones, The Wild Wild West and on). Sagédition also published the two major series from DC Comics: Batman and Superman.
During the 80s reduced their publicationes before before the publisher closed down in 1987.
