"La ragazza del passato" is an Italian made Mandrake story from 1968.
Plot summary
Lothar is alone at home and gets ice cubes from the freezer to put in the whiskey glass he has poured himself, only to discover that the glass is empty. Then he sees that the glass is refilled and something invisible drinks the contents, then a girl's voice speaks to him.
When Mandrake returns home with Narda, they find Lothar in a confused state at the dining table. Mandrake sees the whiskey bottle and suggests to Narda that Lothar has probably had a good supply of the contents. Narda decides to go home to herself when her hat is pushed off her head and lands on the floor. She thinks Mandrake is playing her a childish magic trick, and stomps out offended. No sooner has Narda left the house than the girl's voice sounds again in Mandrake's house. Mandrake speaks to the voice and a beautiful young lady materializes before the eyes of Mandrake and Lothar. She says that her name is Lumella and that two hundred years ago this place was a large village. Her mother was the village witch and she was raised to become a witch herself. But there was a problem, Lumella was unable to do evil deeds - only good. When there was a fire in one of the houses in the village, Lumella ran to help save the residents. Her mother cursed her to remain invisible until one day she was able to do an evil deed. One day a year she could become visible for a chance to honor her witch heritage with an evil deed. And that's what she tried today.
Meanwhile, a small child is kidnapped by three men, but they are spotted by the police and have to speed to try to escape them. The escape stops right at Mandrake's house and the armed kidnappers enter. Lumella's good heart strikes and she tries to save the child from the bad men when Narda appears. Together, Mandrake and Lumella manage to overcome the kidnappers and hand them over to the waiting police.
Suddenly Lumella's mother materializes, she says she is disappointed that her daughter once again only managed to do a good deed. Lumella prepares for another year as invisible and kisses Mandrake goodbye. She shouldn't have done that because Narda gets furious that she allows herself to kiss Mandrake in front of her eyes. Again Lumella's mother materializes, this time very happy. Her Lumilla has finally managed to perform a bad deed - to kiss a man in front of his sweetheart's eyes.
