Plot summary
Arriving towards the South Pole, Miss Dory Survin, an aviator, faces a huge wall of mists and her plane dissappears. When informed of this tragic event, Mandrake and Lothar fly off to help her. At the pole and after landing on the snow, they are suddenly attacked by a prehistoric man. The man has seen Miss Survin but tries to escape them; in fact he managed to trap Mandrake and Lothar in a pit. By hypnotically stretching the wild man's hair, Mandrake manage to use it as a rope and get out of the hole in which they were fallen down. Finally they find Dory and return to civilization with her.

Behind the scenes
The story is a short, redrawn version of the daily story "Mandrake in the Lost World" by Lee Falk and Phil Davis. Most of the panels are edited. Mandrake and Lothar are cut out and replaced with new art, looking more like Phil Davis art from the 50s.
