Merlin el Mago Moderno was a Spanish publication dedicated to "Mandrake the Magician", by Hispano Americana.

History

This series pertenciente to the generic "Las Grandes Aventuras", but usually categorized as a series for "Merlin el Mago Moderno". The regular series has 45 issues, plus two extraordinary annuals; Almanaque 1944 and Almanaque 1945.

There was a facsimile reprint of the collection in 1983 edited by Joaquin Esteve in collaboration with "Club Amigos de la Historieta". Note: Almost all issues are censored version. Someone has added extra ink to the femals for covering their shoulders, back and knees so the girls appears more decent dressed.

Album Rojo

Some issues from the generic Las Grandes Aventuras series were in 1944 collected/rebounded into a new album series known as Album Rojo. 2 issues of total 4 were devoted to Mandrake. Both with 80 pgs and size 21x32 cm.

Under the generic title Las Grandes Aventuras there were 12 Extra issues, one with Mandrake which went on sale between numbers 4 and 5 of the regular series.
