"Queen Ebony" is the 48th Mandrake daily story. The story was written by Lee Falk and drawn by Phil Davis. This story exists in two variants, one made to span four newspaper columns, the other to span five. The five-column variant is cropped in the lower part. There is also a three-column variant, where the first week is the same as the five-column variant divided into two rows. From the second week the three-column variant is cropped less in the lower part than the five-column variant and the panels are made wider. The copyright line is almost always placed differently in the strip, as is the date. In addition, the shape and placement of the speech bubble can be different.
