- May Riff first appeared in the daily story "The Missing Aviatrix"
- Guran and Old Mozz are well-known characters in the Deep Woods, the universe of the Phantom.
- Sala and Blanche are characters from two stories with the Phantom: "The Sky Band" and "The Return of the Sky Band".
- Sala also figured in the first Phantom story "The Singh Brotherhood" from 1936.
