Shakespeare Head Press Pty. Ltd. was established in 1932 by W. Francis Jackson and Dr Ernest Harden. The company aimed to supply schools with cheap Australian-produced text books (including editions of Shakespeare, science, poetry and foreign languages). Consolidated Press acquired a controlling interest in Shakespeare Head Press in 1946. As an imprint of Consolidated Press Shakespeare Head Press published comics in the years about 1953-1959.
