Story was Belgian weekly popular tabloid comic published in French language from 1945 until 1951. It was published in Brussels by the "Editions du Pont Levis". Like many Belgian magazines, it was also published in a Flemish / Dutch version.

From the issue #1 on June 21, 1945 one find "Mandrake the Magician" alongside the usual American comics of the review like – amongst others - "The Katzenjammer Kids", "Popeye", "Big Ben Bolt", "Tim Tyler’s Luck", "Flash Gordon", "The Phantom", "The Lone Ranger", as well as some Belgian or Dutch comics.
