Mandrake the Magician was an Australian series in large format with soft-cover published by Frew Publications. The two series printed total 12 issues with Mandrake. In Message from the publisher at page 3 in issue 3 Jim Shepherd wrote: Every single panel in Frew's Mandrake, editions Nos. 2 and 3 (and through to No. 6) have had to be laboriously re-inked to highlight the to-be-expected fading of old material and no expense has been spared to attend to every other tiny deficiency.
