Following the 2024 paperback book Defenders of the Earth (Mad Cave) - reprinting the full 1987 "Star Comics" (an imprint of Marvel Comics) original series -, "Mad Cave Studios" has planned to publish an all new Defenders of the Earth - Comic Books series of 8 issues (with sub-title "From the World of Flash Gordon" on the covers), directly licensed from "King Features Syndicate" and written by Dan DiDio previously co-publisher of DC Comics.
== Note: In order to promote the series, Mad Cave has also released online in their site a free pdf prologue of 6 pages (see: [1])
