Alex Saviuk was born August 17, 1952 and grew up on Long Island, New York, graduating from "Floral Park Memorial High School" in 1970. He attended the "School of Visual Arts", where he studied illustration and cartooning with his teacher Will Eisner, creator of "The Spirit" comics.
In 1977, he began working for "DC Comics" on the "Superman", "Green Lantern" and "The Flash". In the 80's he worked on the "Action Comic"s title and drew the "Adventures of Steel Man", "The Atom" and "Aquaman" before moving to Marvel Comics for whom he started as a cover artist but became known for his work on the character "Spider-Man", with from 1986 comic-books "Web of Spider-Man", from 1989 on "The Amazing Spider-Man" Sunday pages in newspapers, anf from 2003 in inking the daily strips.
