The Panama American is a daily newspaper based in Panama (Republic of Panama) founded in 1928 and published in English, being initially aimed at serving the North American colony in the Canal Zone.
An edition in Spanish and named "El Panamá América" was later published with articles and comics differents from the Englih edition. "Mandrake the Magician" appeared only in the Spanish version as "Mandrake el mago" during the 40's later years and at the beginning of the 50's.
