"Dr Xoz Prof. of Smells" is the 152nd Mandrake daily story. The story was written by Lee Falk and drawn by Fred Fredericks.
Plot Summary
At the university the eccentric Dr. Xoz' request for research found was refused and his job was terminated. He did try to contact the foundation and the town council to help him with the founds for his research. They all found him some kind of crackpot and refused to help.
Dr. Xoz warned all about plague, if they did not help him so he could continue his work. First hundreds of dogs and thousands of rats invaded the town square. Then Dr. Xoz predict a plague that would destroy the town's industry.
Narda found the story so interesting that she wanted to write a magazine article about Dr. Xoz. She visit Dr. Xoz at his lab in 27 North Pamet, but soon find Dr. Zox a bit to eccentric.
Mandrake and Lothar rescued her in the Wollen Mills, sprayed with syntetic scent to attract millions of moths.
After a furious chasing Dr. Xoz was sentenced to five years in prison. Mandrake manage to get him a lab in jail, as he said: "the line between fanatic and genius is something vague".
