José Manuel Soares is a Portuguese painter and comic book artist. He was born born September 7, 1932 in São Teotónio (municipality of Odemira, region of Alentejo) and has worked for many comic magazines such as "Cavaleiro Andante", "Diabrete", "Lusitas", "Mundo de Aventuras", "Pimpão", "Fagulha" Alegre”, and the Brazilian publishing company EBAL.
