Beginning his career at "King Features Syndicate shortly after his World War II military service, he originally worked pasting down "Ben-Day dot" [1] patterns on daily strips like "The Phantom", "Brick Bradford", "Mandrake the Magician" and "Flash Gordon" before becoming staff colorist for the same series on their Sunday color pages, even if he generally worked the humor strips like "Hagar the Horrible", "Hi and Lois", "Blondie" and "Beetle Bailey". After 1977, he joined the "DC Comics" coloring team.
