'''Paquito''' was a [[Mandrake publications in Mexico|Mexican]] comic book published from 1935 to early 1950s, first by Editorial Juventud S.A. then later [[Editorial Panamericana|Editorial Panamericana S.A.]].
Most sources state that the first issue was published in March<ref group="footnotes">Probably due to the registration of the magazine as printed on the inside: ''Registrado como articulo de Segunda Clase en la Administración de Correos de México, con fecha 23 de marzo de 1935.''</ref> 1936, but it is possible that this is not entirely correct. When you study the covers you can find on the internet, you see that the first 52 issues have '''año I''' printed on the covers, and from number 53 it says '''año II'''. It is known that issue 55 was released on Tuesday April 28 1936 and that the series was a weekly publication at this time. The last issue in '''volume I''' is the issue 52 released on Tuesday April 7, 1936. Going backwards 52 weeks brings the date April 16 1935 as the most likely publication date for the first issue.
Closer to issue 88 ''(December 15, 1936)'' than issue 75 ''(September 15, 1936)'' the series became biweekly. On the covers the text alternates between weekly and biweekly a period like; weekly: issues before 102 then 105, 107, 115, 117, 127, 133; biweekly: issues 103, 110, 113, 119, 121, 123 ''<small>(ends the '''volume II''' run ?)</small>''. The third volume starts about mid April 1937, but the text '''año III''' disappears from the covers and is only printed on the inside of the magazine.
Initially, the book featured a mix of comics in every issue. It quickly gained popularity and about issue 1100 ''(1944)'' it was published seven days a week. Among the comics published in ''Paquito'' were "Superman", "Batman" (the first time these characters appeared in Mexico), "The Saint", "Brick Bradford", "Popeye", "The Phantom", "Felix the Cat" and "Mandrake".
In ''Paquito'' Mandrake was known as "El Mago Maravilla". When "Mandrake" began in ''Paquito'', the stories were published in serialiazed form. Usually a weekly run of strips in only one of the week edition. Mandrake rarely appeared on the covers of these issues.

Issue overview
Regular series
Paquito was a Mexican comic book published from 1935 to early 1950s, first by Editorial Juventud S.A. then later Editorial Panamericana S.A..
Most sources state that the first issue was published in March[footnotes 1] 1936, but it is possible that this is not entirely correct. When you study the covers you can find on the internet, you see that the first 52 issues have año I printed on the covers, and from number 53 it says año II. It is known that issue 55 was released on Tuesday April 28 1936 and that the series was a weekly publication at this time. The last issue in volume I is the issue 52 released on Tuesday April 7, 1936. Going backwards 52 weeks brings the date April 16 1935 as the most likely publication date for the first issue.
Closer to issue 88 (December 15, 1936) than issue 75 (September 15, 1936) the series became biweekly. On the covers the text alternates between weekly and biweekly a period like; weekly: issues before 102 then 105, 107, 115, 117, 127, 133; biweekly: issues 103, 110, 113, 119, 121, 123 (ends the volume II run ?). The third volume starts about mid April 1937, but the text año III disappears from the covers and is only printed on the inside of the magazine.
Initially, the book featured a mix of comics in every issue. It quickly gained popularity and about issue 1100 (1944) it was published seven days a week. Among the comics published in Paquito were "Superman", "Batman" (the first time these characters appeared in Mexico), "The Saint", "Brick Bradford", "Popeye", "The Phantom", "Felix the Cat" and "Mandrake".
In Paquito Mandrake was known as "El Mago Maravilla". When "Mandrake" began in Paquito, the stories were published in serialiazed form. Usually a weekly run of strips in only one of the week edition. Mandrake rarely appeared on the covers of these issues.

Series "Paquito presenta"
By the early 1950s the magazine was splitt into several sub series with a new numbering. Each sub series was given a separate prefix followed by a separate sequential numbering: "El Fantasma" 10xxx (54 (?) issues), "El Mago Maravilla" 11xxx (53 (?) issues), "Popeye" 12xxx (7 (?) issues), "El Gato Garabato" 13xxx (3 (?) issues), "Juanito" 14xxx (20 (?) issues), "Brick Bradford/Kihoga" 15xxx (50 (?) issues), "La Familia Burrón" 16xxx + 17xxx (1387 (?) issues), "Sombras" 17xxx ((?) issues), "Corazón del Norte" 18xxx (26 (?) issues). Hence, Paquito #11001 published in 1952 was the first Paquito issue dedicated solely to "Mandrake".
