Founded on April 1, 1880, as "The North Tonawanda Daily News" by Dr. George S. Hobbie. From February 5, 1938 to October 30, 1954 , it became "The Evening News", also known as "The Evening News of the Tonawandas" and later on as "Tonawanda News".
