When a jewelry store is attacked by robbers disguised as firefighters, Mandrake manages to have one of the thugs arrested. Unfortunately the leader of the gang - a mysterious man with a black mask on his face and nicknamed "The Dome" - kidnaps Narda.
Despite various traps, Mandrake will prevail over the bandits and finally Narda will succeed in unmasking "The Dome", a man without eyes and without nose since his birth. As Mandrake pursues "The Dome", the entire underground realm of the latter is filling with river water and the man is drowning in trying to run away. At the end, the police overcome the whole gang.

"The Dome" is the 31st Mandrake daily story. The story was written by Lee Falk and drawn by Phil Davis. This story exists in two variants, one made to span four newspaper columns, the other to span five. The five-column variant is cropped in the lower part.

Plot Summary

When a jewelry store is attacked by robbers disguised as firefighters, Mandrake manages to have one of the thugs arrested. Unfortunately the leader of the gang - a mysterious man with a black mask on his face and nicknamed "The Dome" - kidnaps Narda. Despite various traps, Mandrake will prevail over the bandits and finally Narda will succeed in unmasking "The Dome", a man without eyes and without nose since his birth. As Mandrake pursues "The Dome", the entire underground realm of the latter is filling with river water and the man is drowning in trying to run away. At the end, the police overcome the whole gang.
