"City of Jewels" Pt.1: "The Polar Bear Pirates" is the 38th Mandrake Sunday story. The story was written by Lee Falk and drawn by Phil Davis.
Plot Summary
Returning from the polar regions the explorer Munden said he had discovered a warm land surrounded by polar ice. With a glittering, fabulous city build of giant jewels instead og stone. Now he wants Mr. Blaine to finance an expedition back there, to search for the city. When they finally reached the great ice pack they were attacked by the Polar Bear Pirate, aided by his amazing trained bear pack. He loots Argos and kidnaps Narda.
