Rinaldo Traini is the founder of Comic Art and an Italian editor.
Biography
In 1960 Rinaldo Traini start working at "l'Istituto di Pedagogia dell'Università di Roma". One of the task was organizing the international archive of comics. This position led him to creating the first great historical exhibition on comics at Bordighera in 1965.
As a comics expert and scholar of communications he has published hundreds of articles on comics and animated films. He edited and directed various monographic series of comics on behalf of Italian and foreign publishers, organized and treated dozens of exhibitions in Italy and abroad (Brazil, Argentina, United States, France, Sweden, Spain). He realized, as a writer and writer of comics, texts by authors such as Guido Buzzelli, Roberto Diso and Corrado Mastantuono.
He created the Yellow Kid Award, which was awarded by an international juries for the most eminent personalities of the industry and has become a proper and true "Oscar" of cartooning.
The Comic Art Publishing House began as one of his projects developed since the Sixties when still many prejudices hindering a serious historical analysis, scientific and critical study of comics. In 2000 Comic Art ceased their publishing activities. During 15 years they produced about 2700 titles, all dedicated to the history of comics
Rinaldo Traini lives in Rome, is married for more than sixty years with Fernanda Picca. He has two children (Ugo, director of radio RAI UNO and Joseph, expert in relational database systems in large public and private institutions) and four grandchildren.
