From 1950 to 1975, it was at first printed in Frankfurt am Main then in Darmstadt, both at the time in West Germany. Written and edited by former GI's, the publication was destined to defend soldier's rights in delivering less official information than the ones given by the official publication “The Stars and Stripes”.

In the seventies comics were however appearing, without any supplement and only into the black and white tabloid pages. Generally with a delay of three weeks on the original Sunday pages, it included [[Mandrake the Magician]] and others classical strips such as "[[The Phantom]]", "Flash Gordon", "The Lone Ranger", "Big Ben Bolt", "Beetle Bailey"...
