"Mistero", "Mistero!" and "Mistero Comics" were series of "Mandrake" published by the Italian editor Mario Nerbini from 1947 to 1950. Several classical comics - such as The Phantom, Tim Tyler's Luck, The Lone Ranger, Brick Bradford, Secret Agent X9, Steve Canyon and of course "Mandrake" - were published in these series, each issue being consacred to only one of them.

Mistero

The first series was weekly released in 1947, in a 20, 5 x 29 cms format, each issue having only 12 pages including the cover. The covers had an attractive color presentation when the inside contents was printed in black and white.

Mistero (second series)

For the third year of the magazine they restart the numbering for the series. The 3 first issues ended the "Il lupo Umano" story, and the next 3 issues printed a 3 part Phantom story by G Fantoni, before the "Mistero" series ended.

At the back cover of issue 47 one find a small mystery. There are an advertice for Nouva Collezione Nerbini - "Albi Mistero"; Uomo Mascherato (issues 1-12), Mandrake (issues 7-9) and Cino e Franco (issues 13-15). And in issue 3 from 1948 there are the same advertice, but now with the Mandrake titles in issues 7-13. Looking at titles they are identical with the Mistero titles, but with a different numbering.

The stories from "Mistero" were re-released in 1949 by Nerbini in his Albi Economici Nerbini series.

Album
