El Caribe (= "The Caribbean"), founded in 1948, is a Spanish-language daily newspaper, published in Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic. Still published, it is one of the Dominican Republic’s most longest-running newspapers. It was however suspended from October 8 to November 2, 1962 and from April 29 to November 1, 1965.

The "Mandrake the Magician" daily strip have been published at least between in "El Caribe" from January 4, 1956 to December 31, 1999, that except for the two periods of suspension cited.
