"Pleasant Valley" is the 38th Mandrake daily story. The story was written by Lee Falk and drawn by Phil Davis. This story exists in two variants, one made to span four newspaper columns, the other to span five. The five-column variant is cropped in the lower part.

Plot Summary

Mandrake and Narda drive a trip and come to Pleasant Valley. Despite the name Pleasant Valley strange things are happening in Pleasant Valley.

Behind the scenes

  • The title for the story is taken from the strips of January 12 and 14, 1946 (Next Week = Pleasant Valley & Beginning: Pleasant Valley).
  • Mystery: Narda speaking to Lothar in the end of the fifth week, and he is active in the story from the seventh week. Oddly enough he was not in the car with Mandrake and Nards at the beginning of the story. So how did he get to Pleasant Valley ?
